ATTIC

INTRODUCTION

The Attic screen is used identify all attic sections and vents in the unit and to enter new measures to be installed for those sections. 

  • For Full House audits, the system will validate the size of the attic sections based on the House Dimension data entered on the Audit Information If the total of the attic sections entered on this screen exceeds the house dimensions, you will receive a warning message.  

The Attic screen is accessed by opening the client’s record from the Job List screen, then selecting Attic from the WEATHERIZATION menu.

  1. To create a new record, click Add
  2. To view (read-only) an existing record, click View at the beginning of the row.
  3. To edit an existing record, click Edit at the beginning of the row. 
  4. To delete a record, click Delete at the beginning of the row.

ADD A NEW ATTIC SECTION

From the WEATHERIZATION menu:

  1. Select Attic and click Add.
  2. Select the attic Section from the drop-down list
  3. Enter the Length of the attic section in feet.
  4. Enter the Width of the attic section in feet.
  5. The Square Foot is automatically calculated.
  6. Enter the Section Quantity. The quantity defaults to 1, but if you have more than one identical attic section, enter the number of sections here.  
  7. Select the Roof Type from the drop-down list.
  8. Select the Roof Material from the drop-down list.
  9. Enter the number of chimneys in the Chimney To Block
  10. Enter the number of Recessed Lights.
  11. Check the box for Dense Packed if existing insulation is densely packed.
  12. If there is Storage to Move, check the box.
  13. If all the existing vents are high on the roof, check the box for All High Vents.
  14. Enter the R value of the existing insulation in the Existing R
  15. Select the Framing from the drop-down list.
  16. The Total R-Value is automatically calculated.
  17. Click Save.

 

ADD ATTIC VENTS

  1. Click the Vents tab and click Add
  2. Select the Vents Type from the drop-down list.
  3. If this is a new vent, enter the Unit Cost.
  4. Enter the number of vents in the Quantity
  5. If this vent is high on the roof, check the box for High.
  6. If this is an existing vent, check the box for Exist.
  7. Click  to Save the record.
  8. When you have completed entering all new and existing vents, click Save.

ADD AN ATTIC MEASURE

  1. Click the Select Measure tab and click Add.
  2. Select the Measure from the drop-down list.
  3. Enter the Unit Cost of the measure.
  4. Enter the Quantity.
  5. Click  to Save the record.
  6. When all measures have been entered, click Save.
  •  Health and Safety measures are not included in the overall SIR calculation for a job, but the cost of other non energy savings measures will contribute to the SIR.

 ENTER AN ATTIC COMMENT

  1. Click the Comment tab.
  2. Click in the box and enter comments.
  3. Click Save.

 

DELETE AN ATTIC SECTION

From the WEATHERIZATION menu select Attic and click Delete  at the beginning of the row for that section. 

 

UPLOAD AND VIEW PHOTOS

From the WEATHERIZATION menu select Attic.

To upload a photo:

  1. Click the Upload Attic Photo or Upload Vent Photo button at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Enter any Notes relating to the photo.
  3. Under Upload File, click Select File.
  4. Locate the file to upload and click Open.
  5. Click Save.

To View a photo:

  1. Click the View Attic Photo or View Vent Photo button at the bottom of the screen.

 

PRINT ATTIC INFORMATION

From the WEATHERIZATION menu select Attic and click the Print button at the bottom of the screen.

Audit Information

For Full House audits, the system will validate the total size of the attic sections based on data entered under the House Dimension section of the Audit Information screen.  If the total of the attic sections exceeds the house dimensions, you will receive a warning message.
